LAB SAMPLES

What are lab samples?

Lab samples are determinations through laboratory tests that give us a quantitative idea of the parameters analysed. They are the perfect tool to avoid infections and food intoxications because they allow objective verification that the samples analysed comply with the current regulations in force.

With this type of analysis, the best quality controls can be guaranteed for products in the food industry.

In order to carry out the analyses, samples must be taken from food, surfaces, handlers, raw material, intermediate product, final product, environment... which will be analysed later in the laboratory.

Analíticas

APTHISA has an external laboratory that is authorised, accredited and certified by ENAC for the analysis of samples.

At APTHISA we adapt to the needs of each client, even advising them in case they have doubts about what to sample or what parameters to determine, according to our experience and based on what the regulations stipulate.

What determinations can be made?

Different types of determinations can be performed depending on the purpose of the analysis.

We can analyse:

-Microbiology (n=1 or n=5)

-Expiry date

-Water

-Sewage water

-Surfaces

-Allergens

-Legionella

-Metals

-Food handler

-Nutritional analysis

-Pool water

-Environment

What are the steps involved in carrying out the analyses?

  • The analyses can be carried out either by APTHISA staff taking the samples, following the internal sampling protocol. Or the staff can collect the sample, for which instructions for collection will be given.

  • The sample shall be collected following hygiene criteria to avoid contamination, especially in cases where the parameters to be analysed are microbiological. Once the sample has been collected, an internal code shall be assigned which shall be accompanied by a sheet with the relevant data on the sample (name, parameters to be determined, storage conditions, batch number, etc.).
  •  The sample shall be sent to the laboratory as soon as possible and under the preservation conditions required by the sample (refrigerated, frozen or at room temperature).
  • The laboratory shall process the sample according to its internal protocol and perform the relevant tests.
  • Once APTHISA receives the laboratory results, the results will be studied and be sent to the client. If any deviation is detected in any parameter, APTHISA would propose corrective measures to the client to remedy it. So that the interpretation of results is always supported by us.

What makes us different

At APTHISA we prefer to use an external laboratory rather than having our own laboratory in order to offer maximum transparency in our results.

In addition, as a consultancy we provide advice on the results obtained, so that the staff who send the results report interprets them in order to make it easier for the client to understand them.

Furthermore, our treatment is totally personalised and thanks to the results of the analysed samples we can detect possible non-compliances not detected by other methods.

We propose improvements and solutions adapted to the possibilities of the establishment and staff capacities. So that these solutions are not impossible to achieve.

Don't wait for a food safety inspection or for a food alert to start testing, as it can save unnecessary costs.
