What is a food enforcement authorities control?
A food enforcement authorities control is an official inspection where they check that the inspected establishment complies with food safety and hygiene regulations. The authorities must verify that food establishments comply with all applicable food safety regulations in order to sell safe products. If non-compliances are detected, they must take measures to solve them. If very serious non-compliances or non-compliances that are not remedied are detected, the authorities may take precautionary closure measures or financial penalties.
